Copper-alloy, 8.45 grams, 23.40 mm. Circa 14th century AD. A cast copper-alloy chessman seal matrix with round base, hexagonal column and flat loop. The matrix design comprises an 'agnus dei' (lamb of God) motif within a border bearing the text '*S'BANANEC' in Lombardic script, with the cruciform head of the banner projecting into the border.
