Medieval 'Annular' Buckle
Copper-alloy, 20.78 grams, 55.80 mm. Circa 13th-14th century AD. A cast copper-alloy buckle formed as a round-section ring with transverse bar, with six stylised knots placed equidistantly around the upper face. Reference: cf. annular buckles in Egan, G. and Pritchard, F. Dress Accessories 115-1450, London, 2002 fig.220, 345, 376. Fine condition. Provenance: found Basildon, Essex, UK.
