Medieval Armorial 'Pierced Disc' Horse Harness Pendant
Copper-alloy and silver, 7.86 grams, 50.61mm. 12th-15th century AD. A thin bracteate pendant with a sturdy suspension loop. Around the central circular piercing is a six-pointed star with dense punched roundel decoration across the obverse. In the central piercing is a globular-headed rivet. The loop is attached to the suspension plate which has the stump of the attachment rivet on the reverse. The fixing lug has been removed at the back for easy mounting and display.
