Medieval 'Chevrons' Archer's Thumb Ring
Copper-alloy, 8.86 grams, 23.96 mm external dia. Internal 19.50 mm, British size T, US 9½, European 21.26. 12th-15th century AD. An archer's thumb ring comprising a carinated elliptical band developing into a triangular extension plate. The plate is decorated with chevrons within elliptical panels along the outer edges, chevrons and ladder-motifs beneath. The band is provided with a lozengiform pad opposite.
