Large Medieval 'Ecclesiastical' Open-Work Hair Pin
Copper alloy, 9.56 grams, 104.97 mm. Circa 15th century AD. A large hair or clothing pin with an open-work design often seen on ecclesiastical mounts of the period that consists of a cylindrical shape body with diamond shaped openings and pellet terminals. Ref: for similar styles see Benet’s Artefacts of England & the United Kingdom, page 407. A scarce example in very fine condition. Found Suffolk.
