Medieval 'Heraldic Eagle' Disc Seal Matrix
Copper-alloy, 4.84 grams, 20.58 grams. Circa 12th-14th century AD. A cast copper-alloy seal matrix of disc form with spine and pierced lug to the reverse. The design features a central heraldic eagle with segmented wing, regardant with in a border bearing the text +CREDE MIChI meaning Believe in Me. Reference: Pateman, B. Collecting Seals.
