Medieval 'Heraldic Eagle' Finger Ring
Copper-alloy, 4.57 grams, 21.43 mm. [Approximate UK size Q 1/2, US size 8 1/4, European size 18.00, Japanese size 17]. Circa 14th-15th century AD. A cast copper-alloy finger-ring with plain D-section hoop and triangular shoulders widening to the elliptical bezel. An engraved bird with spread teardrop-shaped wings and curved beak occupies the bezel. Reference: cf. examples in Oman, C.C. British Rings 800-1914, London, 1974 plate 40.
