Medieval 'Heraldic Lion' Horse Harness Pendant
Copper-alloy, 10.15 grams, 42.97 mm tall. Heraldic harness pendant; circa 14th century AD. Of typical 'heater' shield shape plus intregral suspension loop [worn through], with the figure of a rampant lion outlined in a dark blue enamel; the enamel almost completely preserved. Reference: London Museum Medieval Catalogue, page 118 and plate XVIII for similar examples. Good condition with almost all the blue enamel intact.
