Medieval 'Punch Decorated' Complete Folding Mirror Case Lid
Copper-alloy, 5.77 grams, 41.54 mm. Circa 14th century AD. The upper part of a two hinged section mirror case, with securing lug opposite the hinge. The punched ornamentation in the form of a cross formed by quarter circles in each quadrant. Reference: Portable Antiquities Scheme no NLM-84BF84, for an example of the same form. Good very fine. Provenance: from an old English collection. Found near Devises, Wiltshire, England.
