Medieval 'Punched Pellet' Pendant
Copper-alloy, 12.46 grams, 56.17 mm. 12th-15th century AD. A thin square cast pendant with a thick, integral suspension loop attached by a transverse pin to a D-section T-shaped bar. The pendant features lines of punched pellets dividing the field into two rectangular panels. Reference: cf. the rectangular pendant in Murawski, P.G. Benet's Artefacts of England and the United Kingdom, Ely, 2003, p.379 item MO8-00136. Very fine condition. Provenance: found County Durham, England.
