Medieval 'Quatrefoil' Seal Matrix
Copper-alloy, 5.64 grams, 21.87 mm. Circa 12th-13th century AD. A cast copper-alloy disc matrix with the remains of its suspension ring and dorsal bar on the reverse. The design features a human bust facing right within a quatrefoil, with radiating lines and annulets in the border. Reference: Pateman, B. Collecting Seals, London, 2008. Good fine condition.
