Copper-alloy, 32.51 grams, 51.01 mm. Circa 14th-16th century AD. A cast copper-alloy pommel plate formed as a D-section bar with short arms to the centre. The upper surface is decorated with a series of ribs giving the piece a florid appearance in plan. The central piercing enters the underside as a broad rectangle, narrowing to a circular hole at the top. The rectangular hole accepted the blade's tang, which was hammered flat onto the upper face.
