Very Rare Medieval 'St. Edward the Confessor' Pilgrim Badge
Gilt brass, 4.92 grams, 35.92 mm. 14th century AD. One of a pair of sheet brass discs with repoussé design. The outer border is pelletted framing a raised ring. Within is placed a three-pointed crown, the badge of St. Edward the Confessor, on a hatched field. To the reverse is an attachment pin and old collector's label with accession number 87.135.496.
