Medieval 'William of Macvn' Floral Vessica Seal
Lead, 17.00 grams, 39.04 mm. 13th-15th century AD. A vesica-shaped seal with a central motif of two leaves placed vertically with three median lobes. The broad border features a text reading +S' WIL'I: MACVN. The Macun family were established in north Essex in the 13th century AD. The suspension loop was lost in antiquity. Reference: Pateman, B.
