Rare Parthian Iron Age 'Socketed' Javelin Head
Iron, 655 grams; 565 mm. Circa 1st-2nd century AD. A very large and well preserved iron javelin head, long decahedron socket with a large rounded terminal decoration that separates the socket from the shaft. The shaft is square in section with concave sides that tapper to a fine point. A rare piece in very fine condition. Ex old English collection.
