Scarce Philip II 'Caesar with Escort' Antoninianus
Silver, 4.69 grams, 22.43 mm. Rome. 246-247 AD. Obverse: M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: PRINCIPI IVVENT, Philip II as Caesar, standing right holding spear and globe, beside him a soldier standing right. RIC IV 217; Sear 9243. Scarce. Extremely fine with a softer reverse and some original lustre.
