Post-Medieval 'Heart in Roundel' Spoon
Latten, 36.83 grams, 174 mm. Circa 17th century AD. A cast latten spoon with a concave discoid bowl, elliptical-section handle and ribbed bulb terminal with flat-topped disc finial. On the bowl, below the junction with the handle, is a stamped heart motif within a double ring. Reference: Read, B. Metal Artefacts of Antiquity, vol.1, Langport, 2001 item 729, 730. Very fine condition, complete. Provenance: found Bussage Stroud, Glostershire, England.
