Post Medieval 'Leda and the Swan' Openwork Button or Stud
Silver, 5.83 grams, 26.31 mm dia. The piece is formed as an openwork disc with a ropework border showing a reclining female in loose robes with a swan in front of her torso looking backwards. The figures reclines on curling foliage, in the base of which are the maker's mark 'LH' and three silver hall-marks: the passant lion and lion's mask for London and black-letter script 'C' for the year 1927.
