Post-Medieval 'Locking' Double-Loop Buckle
Copper-alloy, 19.61 grams, 51.68 mm. 17th century AD. A rectangular double-loop buckle. The outer edges of the frame are ornamented with scrolled and notched features, and raised chamfered panels. The central bar is pivoted at each end with a triangular tongue to one side and plaque to the other with discoid finial and domed attachment lug to the reverse. Reference: Whitehead, R.
