Post-Medieval 'Openwork' Belt Hanger
Tinned copper-alloy, 11.88 grams, 46.95 mm. Circa 17th-18th century AD. A cast copper-alloy belt fitting with rectangular slot and piriform socket below with shell detail terminal. The reverse of the shell is scooped to accept a T-shaped suspension mount. The surface is tinned to the outer face. Very fine condition. Provenance: found Tilbury, Essex, UK.
