Pewter, 6.54 grams, 33.63 mm. Circa 19th century AD or earlier. A cast pewter vesica-shaped medal of bifacial type, with one flat and one modelled face. The flat face bears a central expanding-arm cross with foliage between, surrounded by the legend 'ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD WHETHER ...DR..' possibly a paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 10:31 ''Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." To the reverse, the figure of an armoured warrior spearing a dragon, surrounded by the legend '..GEORGE OF ENGLAND..[TEM]PERANCE...". Fine condition. Provenance: found Chadwell St Mary, Essex, UK.
