Extremely Rare Ptolemy II Philadelphos 'Ptolemaic Eagle' Silvered Dichalkon
Debased silver, 9.50 grams, 23.16 mm. Telmessus, Asia Minor. 246-222 BC. Obverse: head of Zeus Ammon right with ram’s horn, wearing taenia. Reverse: PTOLEMAIOY BASILEWS, eagle standing left on thunderbolt, tripod in left field. Svoronos 793; Koln 80–81; cf Sear 7779 (control mark). Very fine and better.
