Roman 'Bulbous' Cosmetic Bottle
Glass, 9.62 grams, 36.55 mm. Circa 1st century AD. A very delicate translucent pale green glass bottle with rounded base, wide neck and everted rim. On the underside are the remains of a separate basal trail. Reference: cf. Roman bottle illustrated in Whitehouse, D. Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.1, New York, 1997 item 190. Fine condition, chip to rim. Provenance: from an old English collection.
