Roman 'Concentric Rings' Disc Brooch
Silvered Bronze, 3.65 grams, 25.53 mm. 2nd century AD. A cast disc brooch with flat obverse surface. There are two concentric incised bands surrounding the central piercing for insertion of a knop. To the reverse there are the remains of the catchplate and pin-lugs. Reference: Hattatt, R. Brooches of Antiquity, Oxford, 1987 item 1027. Fine condition. Provenance: found West Sussex, UK
