Gold and glass, 2.65 grams, 24.47 mm int.dia. 17.88 mm (British P, US 7½, European 16.23). 2nd-4th century AD. A fine gold circular-section hoop attached to a flat backplate surmounted by two granulations and a gold collet within a ribbed surround. The collet holds a red glass intaglio showing a canted bar with branch detailing. Reference: Oman, C.C.
