Roman 'Miniature' Cosmetic Set
Copper-alloy, 7.47 grams, 54.11 mm. Circa 1st-3rd century AD. A cast bronze cosmetic set comprising a lanceolate nail-cleaner with forked end and a long pair of tweezers with incised geometric decoration, both attached to a wire loop. Reference: Appels, A. & Laycock, S. Roman Buckles and Military Fittings, Witham, 2007, p.265. Extremely fine condition. Provenance: found near Bawtry, Yorkshire, UK.
