Roman 'Sculptural' Mount
Copper-alloy, 46.54 grams, 85.10 mm. Circa 3rd century AD. Of cast form, a well executed mount depicting a finely modelled standing female figure, part nude and draped and standing on a plinth. The reverse with two perforated fixing lugs at the base and with a further perforated lug at the top of the head. Provenance: from an old English collection. A superbly detailed piece and beautifully preserved with exceptional patina.
