Romano-British 'Rosette' Enamelled Disc Brooch
Copper-alloy and enamel, 3.13 grams, 23.75 mm. Circa 2nd century AD. A cast copper-alloy disc brooch of rosette type with dentilled edge, pedestal and central enamelled 'bullseye' design. The petals to the outer edge are stamped with ring-and-dot designs and the outer rim of the pedestal features punched-point decoration. The inner ring of the centre is filled with white enamel and the outer with red. To the reverse, the pin and catchplate are intact. Reference: cf. Hattatt, R.
