Romano-British 'Votive' Miniature Axe Head
Copper-alloy, 2.34 grams, 6.75 mm. 1st century AD. A miniature bronze looped and socketed axe head . Objects of this type could be worn as amulets or offered as votives to the gods to acquire favours. Reference: cf. the typology published in Wiltshire Archaeology Magazine, vol.88, 1995. Very fine condition. Provenance: found Cambridgeshire, England.
