Series J Type 36 'Birds and Cross' Sceatta
Silver,0.92 grams; 12.23 mm. Circa 710 – 750 A.D. Secondary Sceattas. Obverse: Diademed bust with spiky hair and pointed nose right with cross in front. Reverse: Large bird with down turned tail plumage walking right, above a small bird and a cross in front. Recorded with the Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge University as: EMC 2008.TBA. S 791A; Metcalf 301/ 302. Very fine.
