Silver, 1.17 grams; 19.27 mm. +EDEL' STANI, Round Alpha A with cross bar above, in small inner circle. R. +ANG REX, around omega with bar above, within inner circle. Uncertain moneyer, probably minted at Ipswich, Suffolk 827 - 845 A.D. N 439; S 950 variant. Only five coins of this type recorded with the Medieval Coin Corpus (EMC) at the Fitzwilliam Museum. Recorded with the Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge University as: EMC 2006.0168. Slightly irregular flan, very fine/extremely fine. Found near Snettisham, Norfolk. SOLD
