Viking / Anglo-Scandinavian 'Bulbous' Strap End
Copper-alloy, 5.38 grams, 32.02 mm. 9th-11th century AD. A split Viking or Anglo-Scandinavian strap end comprising a flat plate expanding to end in a symmetrical pair of bulbs. Reference: cf. more elaborate openwork example in Murawski, P. Benet's Artefacts of England and the United Kingdom, Ely, 2003 item V12-0105. Good very fine condition.
