Viking 'Cloisonne' Ring-Headed Pin
Enamelled copper-alloy, 6.46 grams, 91.42 grams. Circa 9th – 11th century AD. A graceful, tapering pin with a hinged annular head. The flanking cloisons contain white and yellow enamel fill. Similar finds have been made in the Viking Age levels at Dublin and elsewhere, although the presence of the enamel is unusual. Reference: Fanning, T.
