Viking ‘Conical’ Gaming Piece
Lead, 57.24 grams; 24.04 mm. Circa 8th-10th century AD. A larger Viking gaming piece in the shape of a high cone, with a prominent rib on one surface used as a ‘warrior’ or pawn in the board-game hnefatafl. Reference: Pollington, S.
