Viking 'Inlaid Wire' Prick Spur. Iron, 44.06 grams, 85.17 mm. Circa 9th - 11th Century A.D. A Viking prick spur inlaid with cords of silver and brass inlaid wire. On the terminals there are the riveting holes, one with the rivet in situ, at the peak of the bow there is a conical prick. Once the spur was mounted to the boot the prick would have been used the heel the horse and make it run faster. Professionally cleaned and conserved and in a stable, Very Fine condition. SOLD
