Viking 'Scrolled Terminals' Penannular Brooch
Silver, 6.50 grams, 38.64 mm. 10th-11th century AD. A delicate penannular brooch with reversed scroll terminals, decorated with geometric punched-point borders. The band is flat on the reverse and triangular in section, slightly scalloped in profile. The pin is round-section rising to a flat elliptical plate which is wound round the band; the plate is decorated with punched-point lozenge motifs within borders.
