Silver, 1.04 grams, 19.35 mm. Group II; circa 810 AD. Obverse: tonsured facing bust with legend +VVLFRED [ ]PISCOPI. Reverse: DOROVERNIA monogram at centre with legend +S[ ]HT MONETA for the moneyer Saeberht at the mint of Canterbury. S. 888; N. 240. Provenance: Portable Antiquities Scheme number VER 08/117, found South Cambridgeshire. About good very fine, with chip affecting about 25% of the legend circle. An extremely rare coin.
